I've tried out a number of acoustic guitars over the years and am rarely completely won over -- one's too tinny; one's too booming, etc. I was really impressed with a Daisy Rock model's sound a while back, but the look wasn't quite right for me. Then comes the glittery Pixie and, being a child of the '80s, I had to have it!I tried one in a store to make sure I liked the sound, but wound up buying it through Amazon vendor ZoZo Music (who shipped promptly and is just fab) to get the best price. As advertised, the smaller neck and lighter weight make it ideal for females. (Not just "girls," but perhaps girls at heart!) The aesthetics of the guitar are obviously cool. The hot pink glitter makes it a very bold instrument.However, there is very poor resonance and tone with this. It is made smaller for girls, but I found the neck width to be borderline too small for me (and I have smaller hands). The depth of the neck is nice, makes it much easier to wrap your thumb around. I guess the resonance is sacrificed with the sparkles. Because of its coating, there's less vibration and reverberation going on - which ultimately affects your tone. The strings sit a reasonable distance from the fretboard - not too high, not too low. This guitar is probably better for basic chords and rhythm rather than fast-picking solos, especially in the higher ranges since it is not a cutaway.
