I wanted plastic storage compartments for my garage rather than particle board as sometimes snow melting and falling off of the tires can get the garage floor wet. If particle board gets wet it falls apart while plastic does not. The cabinet assembled nicely, with no tools required. The doors shut fine. I suspect that people who have problems shutting their doors have not properly assembled the cabinet. To snap the top of the cabinet into place, you have to have the doors open. They will then close fine.
